The Indian Army contingent has departed for Egypt to take part in the fourth edition of the India-Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise, Cyclone-IV. The exercise will be held at Anshas from 9 to 17 April 2026. It continues the expanding defence partnership between the two countries and follows the successful previous edition conducted in India.
Exercise Overview
The contingent consists of 25 personnel from Special Forces units. They will train with Egyptian counterparts in a realistic operational setting. The exercise is designed to improve joint mission planning and strengthen interoperability between the two forces.
Training Focus
The participating troops will undertake training in:
- Special operations tactics.
- Techniques and procedures for desert terrain.
- Operations in semi-desert conditions.
- Sharing of best practices in special missions.
