The Indian Army will host its first multilateral military exercise, named Pragati, at the Foreign Training Node in Umroi, Meghalaya, from 18 May to 31 May 2026. Military delegations from 11 friendly countries will participate in the drill, which expands the Army’s training format from bilateral exercises to a consortium-style engagement.

Training Objectives
Military exercises are formal training events that test coordination, communication and operational procedures among armed forces. Pragati will focus on defence cooperation, interoperability and mutual trust among the participating nations.
