Kaushal Rath AI Awareness Initiative Launched

Kaushal Rath AI Awareness Initiative Launched

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched Kaushal Rath, a mobile Artificial Intelligence awareness initiative under the National AI Literacy programme Yuva AI for All. The project aims to expand basic AI education among students, youth, educators and learners in semi-urban and underserved areas. The mobile unit was flagged off from India Gate and will travel to educational and community spaces to provide hands-on exposure to AI and Generative AI tools.

Purpose of the Initiative

Kaushal Rath is designed to make AI learning more accessible and inclusive. It seeks to build awareness about AI fundamentals, practical applications and ethical use. The initiative focuses on learners who may not have regular access to advanced digital resources. It is intended to support India’s wider goal of creating an AI-ready workforce.

Features of the Mobile Lab

The mobile unit functions as a fully equipped computer lab. It includes:

  • Internet-enabled systems for live learning.
  • Audio-visual tools for interactive sessions.
  • Structured training modules for guided instruction.
  • Trained facilitators for hands-on support.
  • India-specific use cases to connect AI with local needs.

It will visit schools, colleges, Industrial Training Institutes and community spaces. The outreach model is meant to combine awareness, registration and practical demonstrations.

Yuva AI for All Programme

The Yuva AI for All course is a four-hour, self-paced programme with six modules. It does not require prior coding knowledge. The course covers AI basics, ethics and real-world applications. Participants receive certification on completion. The programme is being supported through partnerships with Future Skills Prime, iGOT Karmayogi, Coursera and TCS iON, among others.

Link with India AI Impact Summit 2026

The initiative is also linked to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled for 16–20 February at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The summit is being positioned as the first global AI gathering hosted in the Global South. Its themes are People, Planet and Progress, with a focus on development-oriented outcomes and national priorities.
