PB-SHABD Free Access Extended Till 2027

Prasar Bharati’s Shared Audio-Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination, known as PB-SHABD, is a shared feed service that provides logo-free news content to media organisations. Launched in March 2024, the platform offers video, audio, text, photos, live feeds, and archival material for broadcast and dissemination. Free access to the service has now been extended till March 2027.

What PB-SHABD Offers

PB-SHABD provides daily news items across major formats. The content is logo-free and does not require credit when used. It includes news from across India, covering agriculture, technology, foreign affairs, politics, weather updates, interviews, and editorial pieces. The service is designed to help media outlets use ready-to-publish content quickly.

Network and Coverage

The platform uses a network of more than 1,500 reporters, correspondents, and stringers. This is supported by 60 edit desks functioning round the clock. Around 1,000 stories are uploaded daily in major Indian languages through Regional News Units and headquarters. The service aims to provide wide geographic coverage from across the country.

Live Feed and Archival Access

PB-SHABD also provides a Live Feed feature for major events. This includes national events, investiture ceremonies, and press briefings. In addition, a media repository works as an archival library, allowing subscribers to access old footage and curated packages. These features are intended to reduce the time needed for content collection and editing.

Access and Media Use

Media organisations can sign up for PB-SHABD free of cost through the official platform. The service is positioned as a central content-sharing system for broadcasters and digital media users. Its free access extension till March 2027 is for wider media reach and easier dissemination of public-interest news.
