The Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) has been integrated with the e-Shram portal to improve convergence between worker registration and skilling support. The integration allows e-Shram beneficiaries to access upskilling opportunities available on SIDH across all States and Union Territories. The platform also connects skilling, employment, language access and digital certification services in one ecosystem.
e-Shram and SIDH Linkage
The integration enables registered workers on e-Shram to discover relevant courses on SIDH. It supports wider access to training for informal workers and other beneficiaries. State-wise enrolment details of e-Shram users in SIDH courses are maintained for monitoring and implementation.
Skill India Assistant on WhatsApp
Skill India Assistant (SIA) is an AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot integrated with SIDH. It uses conversational AI based on Meta’s open-source LLaMA model. The chatbot offers:
- Personalised course recommendations.
- Nearby training centre discovery.
- Job opportunities matched to user skills.
- Quizzes and doubt resolution support.
It works through text or voice in English, Hindi and Hinglish. Its WhatsApp format makes it accessible on basic smartphones without requiring a separate app or high-speed internet.
Digital Credentials and Language Access
SIDH provides digitally verifiable credentials in line with open standards. These certificates are designed to be secure, tamper-proof and easy to verify by employers and other stakeholders. SIDH is also integrated with Bhashini, which supports translation in 22 regional languages. This improves accessibility for diverse linguistic communities and strengthens inclusive digital skilling.
Jobs and Employment Linkages
The Job Exchange page on SIDH fetches vacancies from the National Career Service portal and the JobX portal of NSDC. Job listings may also include opportunities from micro, small and medium enterprises. Certified talent hiring is facilitated through NCS and JobX, strengthening the link between skilling and employment.
