Ayush Suraksha Portal Logs Over 10,000 Complaints

Ayush Suraksha Portal Logs Over 10,000 Complaints

The Ayush Suraksha Portal has emerged as a key regulatory tool for monitoring misleading advertisements and adverse drug reactions in traditional medicine systems. Launched on 30 May 2025, the IT-enabled platform is meant to strengthen oversight of Ayush products and support faster regulatory response through a centralised dashboard.

Portal Purpose and Design

The portal was created to track two major concerns in the Ayush sector – misleading or objectionable advertisements and suspected adverse drug reactions. It provides a single digital system for complaint registration, monitoring, and analysis. The platform is intended to improve transparency and help authorities act on violations more quickly.

Complaint Data and Response

Official data show that 10,269 complaints related to misleading advertisements have been registered so far. In addition, 216 suspected adverse drug reaction cases have been reported. All complaints received through the portal have been forwarded to the relevant authorities for necessary action. State and Union Territory data show varied levels of disposal, with some regions completing action on all complaints and others still processing them.

State-wise Pattern and Enforcement

Maharashtra recorded the highest number of complaints, with more than 1,100 cases, all of which have been acted upon. Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi also reported number of complaints. The government has also identified repeat offenders in some states, and action has been taken against them based on portal complaints. This indicates a move towards stricter enforcement in the promotion of Ayush products.

Broader Regulatory Significance

The portal forms part of the government’s wider effort to ensure accountability in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. It also reflects the growing use of digital governance tools in public health regulation. The system is expected to support evidence-based monitoring and improve consumer safety in traditional medicine promotion.
