Uttarakhand has put in place special health arrangements for this year’s Char Dham Yatra to ensure quick medical support for pilgrims. The state will monitor the health of devotees in real time through the e-Swasthya Dham portal. The system is designed to help authorities identify medical needs early and provide timely assistance along the pilgrimage routes.
Real-Time Health Monitoring
Pilgrims’ health will be tracked through the digital portal during the journey. This is intended to improve coordination between medical teams and emergency services. The state has also set up 25 medical relief posts and 33 health screening points on the routes for check-ups and first-line treatment.
Medical Staff Deployment
Experienced doctors and paramedical staff will be posted at permanent and temporary medical units, major halting points and all four Dhams. The deployment will be done on a rotational basis to maintain continuous service. The arrangement includes:
- 16 specialist doctors
- 46 medical officers
- 85 paramedical staff
- 100 health volunteers
Emergency Ambulance Network
To handle emergencies, 177 ambulances will remain stationed along the Yatra routes. These include 108 emergency service ambulances, advanced life support ambulances and cardiac ambulances. One boat ambulance will be available in Tehri, while a helicopter ambulance will operate through AIIMS Rishikesh.
Focus on Quick Medical Response
The state has stressed that ambulance response time will be kept to a minimum so that pilgrims receive prompt medical care. The health arrangement aims to reduce risk during the high-altitude pilgrimage and strengthen emergency preparedness across the Char Dham route.
