UMANG, short for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance, is a mobile application launched as part of the Digital Indian Initiative for enabling people to digitally access central and state government services. It provides services in more than 10 Indian languages. It was developed by the IT Ministry and the National e-Governance Division.
The government recently integrated services of domestic navigation company MapmyIndia to enable people to locate government facilities on the digital map. Users will now able to locate facilities like mandis, blood banks, ESIC hospitals etc., in their neighbourhood. This will further ease the access to government services.
